About Us

Captain Bill with his dad

Born and raised in Leelanau County, Captain Bill Winoweicki has been fishing since he was strong enough to hold a cane pole. Times have progressed since then but the excitement and experience is still the same.

Bill Winowiecki is a United States Coast Guard Licensed Captain.

About Captain Bill's Activities

Captain Bill spends much of his free time protecting our fishery in support of the Charter Boat Industry.

Captain Bill is the Northwest Michigan Director for the Michigan Charter Boat Association. His territory covers Manistee – North to the Mackinaw Bridge. He represents Captains in all Ports in this area.

Captain Bill sits on the Lake Michigan Citizen’s Advisory Board. His opinions are valued on what is happening to the fishery in his area.

He is a member of the Grand Traverse Area Sport Fishing Association.

Captain Bill donates much of his time communicating with Fisherman, DNR officials, and Charter Boat Captains about the Past, Present and Future of our Lake Michigan Fishery.
