Things to consider when booking a charter
You want the best experience for your dollar.
Choose a Captain who will go the extra distance to put fish in the boat, be
out before sunrise or stay out until sunset. Eighty percent of the time there is an
early morning or late evening bite. Watch what the local fisherman do.
They are out early and off by 10:00 a.m.
This is vacation time. Find a
Captain who
will do a little extra, like stay out a little longer on a tougher bite trip and give that extra attention, thinking safety.
We are fishing Lake Michigan. Storms come up
and fog rolls in. I have seen captains do things that are not in the best
interest of the clients, like knowing when to call a trip because of wind. A good
trip and safe trip is always first!!
Price. Everybody wants a good deal. Just
because I have a boat does not mean it is all fun and games. I supply all
the equipment and tackle. I supply a boat, gas and insurance. I have the
knowledge of where and when to catch fish. A charter fishing trip is
a great deal for 5 hours. Try and rent a truck or piece
of equipment for 5 hours and you still have to do the work.
A charter captain is ready to go and raring
to share his trade with you. Come out and enjoy. Don’t forget your
sunglasses, camera, drinks, snack, and most importantly a cooler for
your catch.
