See July 14th Fishing Report

“My wife and I took a 10 day vacation to Michigan a few weeks ago. I had searched long and hard to find a salmon fishing charter that would be willing to marry me up with another person. After talking to countless captains and getting the cold shoulder, I came across Watta Bite.

I sent Capt. Bill an e-mail and told him the time frame I would be in the area and that I was interested in getting paired up. He quickly e-mailed back and said he would do his best to get me out on the water. I all but forgotten about it until the Sunday before we left, I got an e-mail from Capt. Bill telling me he had another person that wanted to fish the same day I did. I booked it and looked forward to the trip for the entire week.

When the day of the trip arrived, I met Bill at the boat in Glen Arbor at 5am and a few minutes later, we were off on our trip on a glass smooth Lake Michigan. About 10 minutes into the trip, Capt. Bill set the lines and almost instantaneously, we had a fish. I was first up and for the next 15 minutes, I fought a 22lb. King Salmon for my first ever salmon experience. It was a blast. The rest of the trip was great. We hardly ever went more than 20 minutes without a fish on the line. We were back at the dock with a full rack of fish by 8:30am.

I will never consider another charter for salmon in Michigan again. Capt. Bill is professional, knows the area extremely well and is a great guy to fish with. It felt like I was out with an old friend. I highly recommend Watta Bite to anyone considering a trip for salmon.”
